Equipping young people with the skills and platforms to shape their future || Empowering communities to prevent conflict and strengthen resilience

Our Impact

For over two decades, Peacelinks Sierra Leone has delivered results-driven, community-led interventions that contribute to sustainable peace, youth leadership, and inclusive governance across Sierra Leone.

At the core of our approach is the use of arts as a powerful and effective tool for peacebuilding. Through music, drama, storytelling, and creative expression, we have enabled communities, especially young people, to process trauma, foster dialogue, and rebuild trust in post-conflict settings.

Our peacebuilding initiatives have supported the establishment and strengthening of community-based mechanisms for dialogue and mediation, enabling early identification and resolution of conflicts and reducing the risk of escalation. These efforts have contributed to improved social cohesion and increased trust among community members.

Through targeted capacity building, we have trained and mentored young people who are now actively leading community initiatives, participating in local governance processes, and contributing to national advocacy platforms. This has strengthened youth agency and expanded their role as credible actors in peace and development.

Our governance and civic engagement work has facilitated structured interfaces between citizens and public institutions, improving accountability and responsiveness in service delivery. Communities supported by Peacelinks demonstrate increased awareness of rights and stronger engagement with duty bearers.

Across all interventions, we apply evidence-based approaches, continuous learning, and inclusive participation to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and scalability. The result is measurable progress in community resilience, civic participation, and locally driven peacebuilding outcomes that align with national priorities and global development frameworks.
